Cook with Shuk" is a cultural and culinary experience in the environment and ambience of Chef Shuk's traditional, private Malay House, in the middle of the jungle, on the beautiful Island of Langkawi in Malaysia. Learn how to cook Malay dishes under the guidance of Chef Shuk in his Malay House, which was built and furnished with a collection of antiques from all over the world.
Shukri will take you around the garden to see, smell and feel many types of spices and herbs which have been used for generations in cooking Malay food. His own knowledge, passed on through his family, is a fascinating aspect of the whole cooking experience as he explains. You will not only learn how to cook Malay meals, you will also hear about culture, customs and tradition, spiced with little stories and anecdotes.
After a tour inside the house you will be taken to the kitchen and take part in blending and making the cooking ingredients, which will be added to the meat and fish of the meal to come. Finally sitting down you will enjoy tasting and eating all of what you have helped in preparing those real dishes.

In 2004, Shukri demonstrated one of his dishes at The Annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Kuala Lumpur and hosted 30 World Celebrity Chefs and Authors of cook books and their publishers in his traditional home in Langkawi. A fabulous meal was prepared by Shukri with the help of the local villagers. Laid out in the magnificent dining room, the guests were delighted and impressed of the great dishes and setting.
The same year he won the prestigious Tourism Malaysia Award for the Best Tour Programme in the Special Interest Category.
